Introducing TEAM
Every structure is built from resources. In the Sovereign Operating System, there are five.
Time. Where your hours actually go, not where you intend for
them to go.
Energy. What you have available, and what depletes it versus replenishes it.
Attention. What you are actually focused on, moment to moment, regardless of what is on your calendar.
Money. Where your financial resources flow, and what that flow says about your real priorities.
Movement. Your body, your physical environment, and the literal
motion of your daily life.
These five resources are your TEAM. They are not separate categories you manage independently. They are the actual material your structure is built from. Every commitment you hold, every habit you maintain, every relationship you invest in is drawing from this TEAM.
The question this month is simple, even if the answer requires honesty.
Is your TEAM currently building a structure with integrity? Or is it being spent on a design that no longer matches who you declared yourself to be?
The felt experience of being in a body that's alive, capable, and well. Not maintained. Embodied.
Energy. Strength.
So I got a little help from the OG, my Daddy.
I'm intelligent, high achieving, and all of the ways we like to label ourselves. All of that to say that sometimes... it's easier to live in my head than to live in real life.
And that is precisely the opposite of vitality. We are so much more than our brains and our intellect, yet we identify most of our life with what we know or think we know about everything.
Last month we cleared some space in our mind. Now let's let it be and get into real life.
opening letter
Last week in Pilates, I tried to do a handstand on the chair.
I have done it before. My body knows this movement. But I had been away from Pilates for about six months and I had already noticed, session by session, that something was different. A little less strength here. A little more effort there. So when I stood in position and tried to move the chair, and nothing happened, not even a little shift or budge, nada — something in me dropped.
I tried to concentrate. I tried to breathe, to focus, to connect, to surrender. I tried everything and this chair did not move.
I felt the cry in my chest. I pulled it together and moved on to the next exercise, but I spent the rest of the day in and out of my head thinking about my strength, about what I was losing, about what it meant that my body would not do what I asked it to do.
The next morning when I came back, my instructor met me at the door.
"The chair was on the wrong setting."
OMG, are you kidding me, lol!
We set the right springs. The chair moved. I did the handstand.
The physical reality was simple...and hilarious. It took about thirty seconds to resolve.
The mental and emotional roller coaster ride took the better part of a day and a half.
I was "dis-integrating" every time I escaped reality by over thinking and rationalizing whatever was happening in real time.
When I am mentally clear, emotionally present, spiritually connected and surrendered, and physically inhabiting my actual body in the actual moment — I feel alive in a way that no amount of productivity or output can replicate.
That is vitality.
Vitality is not fitness. It is not a wellness metric or a body composition goal or the absence of symptoms.
Vitality is aliveness. It is integration of mind, spirit, and body present in the same moment, in contact with the same reality.
It is the felt experience of actually being here, in your life, in your body, in what is actually happening rather than in the story your mind is running about it.
That is what we are building this month.
Get out of your head and into real life.
That gap between what actually happened with my body, in reality, and what my mind made it mean, is what this issue is about.
Most of us live in our heads. We run mental simulations of our lives while our real life, the one happening in the body, in the present moment, in the room we're standing in, goes quietly ignored or denied.
And that costs us everything vitality is made of.
When I was going through chronic fatigue years ago, I did not understand it that way. I thought my body was failing. What was actually happening was that I had been over-indexed in my mental and intellectual self for too long. I was suppressing my spiritual and emotional reality to function, deliver, and to keep going.
So my body finally said what I would not. The physical break down of my body was the evidence of me living in my head and avoiding my real life.

We all watch a lot of interviews, but this got me hype becasue Shirley Ann makes it plain and real.
Shirley Ann Fraser-Pryce is the Jamaican Track & Field GOAT. Even Usain Bolt says so. In this interview she says a lot of things we've heard before, but honey... it is the way that she is completely connected to every word she says that makes it a must watch. There was no performance in it. She was not presenting ideas about her life. She was describing it, plainly, from the source. Shirley Ann says that "your standards are who you are" and left no doubt when she said it, because she is living proof of it in the same breath.
That is what embodiment actually looks like from the outside. Watch it and you will know exactly what I mean.
LISTEN
Whew. I just started listening on Audible and it is something.
It's hard to describe but it is a very intimate and personal listen. My father recommended it by saying "it's mind blowing" and he is not wrong. I have to listen carefully and slowly.
It's so full of substance, it makes you want to take notes, but then you'd miss it. Because you'd be in your head, and this requires your whole being to truly receive it.
I'm letting it soak in and just seeing what opens up.
If you have or need a little time and space take a listen.
move
Pilates will not let you be absent. You will either strain a muscle, fall on your face, or literally not move.
I had paused because I stopped feeling the benefits. The hour long sessions weren't returning on the investment. I wasn't ready to go back to it yet, but my daughter wanted to try it.
So here I Am and it's already confronting.
It turns out that my plateau was not about Pilates. It was about me going through the motions and getting things done without being fully present and connected. I was showing up physically but my mind was somewhere else entirely.
The results I want require all of me. Mind, body, breath, presence. When those things are connected, it works. When they are not, I'm just moving equipment around and wondering why nothing is changing. It's up to me to be present, if I want the results I say I want.
If you stopped something because it stopped working, it might be worth asking how present you were when you were involved in it.
For a while I have been shifting from business founder to family estate manager and not knowing how to get there.
I kept them separate. The business was a personal pursuit to prove myself professionally. The estate was a world. Keeping them apart felt easier. It was also a trap.
The truth I had to tell myself was about the math. I had accomplished more than most. And the ROI was not mathing. So I stopped trying to redeem the past or force a future and just looked at what was actually true right now.
The business is not separate from the estate. It never was. They are the same thing.
Once I could see that, everything started working together. More gets done with less effort. The impact lands where it matters.
And I feel it. Powerful, enthusiastic, energized in a way I was not when I was split. More capacity. A direct line between what I do and what it produces — for my business, for my family, now and into the future.
That is integration. That is vitality.
LIVE
Fuel it. Maintain it. Take it in for service when something breaks. Keep it running well enough to get where you are going. The goal is not to embody it, the goal is to operate it.
That framework is so embedded in how we live that most of us don't notice it. We track our steps, monitor our sleep, manage our nutrition, and optimize our recovery — all from the same place we manage everything else. Our heads. The body remains an object we tend to rather than a life we live inside of.
Vitality is something else entirely.
What makes it possible
Vitality lives at the intersection of three things simultaneously. When all three are present, you feel alive. When any one is missing, you feel it, even if you cannot name it.
essay
Mental Clarity — Truth or noise?
The mind is present in actual reality, thinking from what is true rather than from the story running in the background. When mental clarity is present, the mind stops consuming the energy it has been spending on simulation and returns it to the actual experience of living.
Spiritual Connection — With or against Life?
Being plugged into something larger than your current circumstances. Surrendered to your mission and at peace with what is not yours to control. When this layer is alive, there is ease underneath the effort. When it is missing, everything feels harder than it should and the effort feels strangely empty even when it produces results.
Physical Presence — Am I actually here...now?
Inhabiting your body in this moment. Feeling what your body feels. Being in the room you are standing in rather than in your head about it. When physical presence is real, the meal tastes like something. The movement feels like something. The moment and how it feels to you lands.
Check in right now.
What gets in the way
We dis-integrate because when real life feels uncomfortable, demanding, or unclear, the mind is the most socially acceptable place to hide from it.
Thinking feels productive. Analysis feels responsible. Even prayer and devotion can become a way of being above the mess of actual living rather than present inside it.
The body is where reality actually lands. It's where the grief lives, where the joy lives, where the truth of what is actually happening shows up before the mind has had a chance to interpret it. So we leave. We go up into our heads and call it working, planning, praying, growing. And the longer we stay there the more our reality, the part of life that's felt, present, physical, and relational goes unoccupied.
That is dis-integration. In short, it's the habit of leaving. Of choosing the familiar altitude of the mind over the sometimes uncomfortable ground of real life.
The body keeps showing up anyway. It sends signals of fatigue, tension, illness, numbness, the vague sense that something is missing even when everything looks fine. It is not failing you. It is reporting accurately on how long it has been since you were actually there.
Vitality is the return and the choice to come back into the body, Into the present, and Into the life that has been waiting for the whole you.
FROM THE FOUNDER
I remember when vitality felt like showing up to play or practice and my body just did what I asked it to do.
Or when being active was hanging out with my people. It was more social than disciplined, and more fun than responsible or necessary.
I also remember what it felt like to have a solid routine that worked. It felt energizing and like I "had it together."
And then it stopped feeling like anything for a while. My structure broke down and I stopped moving as much. I was pretty much just getting through.
You remember all of it. The ease, the fun, the discipline, the struggle, the seasons when your life felt like it was yours and the seasons when it felt like a stranger.
Vitality was present in every single one of them, even the hard ones. Even the ones where the structure broke. Even the ones where you were just getting through. Because vitality is not the absence of struggle. It is not a fitness level or a routine or a season when everything was working.
Vitality is aliveness. And aliveness shows up differently in every season of life.
The ease of the athlete. The joy of the social gym rat. The competence of the woman with the solid routine. Even the rawness of just getting through — that was you, present in your life, feeling it fully. That is closer to vitality than the woman going through the motions of a perfect wellness routine while not actually being home inside any of it.
What dis-integrates us is not the hard seasons. It is the habit of leaving. Of managing the life from above rather than living it from inside. Of being productive, spiritual, responsible, and completely absent from the actual felt experience of being alive.
The invitation this month is not to get your routine back. It is to come back to your life. To inhabit it fully, in this body, in this season, exactly as it is.
You have one life. It is happening right now.
Go all in on it.
Five months in and the operating system has a full stack.
You know who you are. You know the level you are choosing to operate from. You have a structure being built to hold both. You have started clearing the internal noise that gets in the way of trusting your own knowing. And this month you came back to your body — to the felt experience of being fully present in your actual life.
The three questions have not changed. They will not change. What changes this month is the layer underneath them.
The vitality check is the simplest one we have added. It is not an assessment or an audit. It is just a return. Three times a day, one question.
Am I actually here right now?
Not are you productive. Not are you performing well. Not are you on track. Just — are you here. In your body. In this moment. In what is actually happening rather than in your head about it.
That is the whole practice. Because vitality lives in the present moment and nowhere else. You cannot be alive in a meeting you are only half attending. You cannot feel the meal you are eating while solving a problem in your head. You cannot be present for the people in front of you while mentally living somewhere else.
The check is a return signal. Every time you ask it and the honest answer is no, that is not a failure. That is the practice working exactly as it should. You notice. You come back. That is it.
This month I'm asking you something different than the last four.
I'm not asking you to think, audit, declare, or build. I'm asking you to show up. In your body. In the present moment. In your actual life — the one happening in real time, not the one you are managing from inside your head.
This requires intention and commitment from people like us. We are good at the mental work. The presence work is where we go quiet.
But this is where the whole system either becomes real or stays theoretical. Your declaration, intention level, structure, and clarity lives or dies in the quality of presence you bring to a regular Tuesday. To the meal. To the session. To the conversation. To the morning before anyone needs anything from you.
I felt it big this month. Coming back to Pilates when I was not ready. Telling the truth about my business. Connecting the dots I had kept separate for years. None of it felt like a vitality practice. It felt like life finally making sense.
That is what integration feels like when it is working. Powerful. Energized. A direct line between what you do and what it produces. More capacity. Less split.
That is available to you. It has always been available. You just have to keep coming back to it.
Bring your worksheet to the session. Bring what you felt, not just what you planned. That is where the real work happens.
